ווי אַזוי װעט די MP4־װײַז אָפּנעמען דעם קלאַסישן קלאַס

Concretely, the audio track is dropped from the container and the video is copied without re-encoding, so the picture is identical to the source. The result is the same picture with no audio track at all, rather than an audio track turned down to zero.
איז דער װײַסע־פֿאַרב־װײַזער ניט־פֿאַרבײַטלעך?

No. Removing a track is a container operation, so the video stream is copied bit-identically and is not re-encoded, however long the clip is.
Uploaded files are processed on our own conversion servers, nobody looks at them, and they are not shared. The upload and the converted file are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
It depends on the formats. A lossless target such as PNG, WAV or FLAC keeps what the source holds; a lossy target such as JPG, MP3 or MP4 is usually re-encoded, which trades some detail for a smaller file.
