Will my formatting survive RTF to Markdown?

Headings, bold and italic, lists, tables, links and embedded images map across whenever both sides can express them. Where they cannot the converter degrades gracefully rather than failing — converting into a plain-text target, for example, keeps the words and the reading order and drops the styling.
Why convert RTF to Markdown at all?

Usually compatibility. RTF is the plain-text-with-markup interchange format that every word processor since the 1980s can open, while Markdown is plain text with a light convention for headings, links and emphasis, designed to stay readable unrendered — so the conversion is about getting the content into the format the receiving tool, publishing pipeline or archive policy actually accepts.
Do page numbers, headers and footers carry over?

They survive between page-oriented formats that model them. Flowing formats such as HTML, Markdown and plain text have no concept of a page at all, so running heads and page numbers are dropped there — there is nowhere to put them.
What happens to images embedded in the RTF?

They are extracted and re-embedded in the Markdown where the format supports embedding. Formats that reference rather than embed (HTML, Markdown) get the images written alongside and linked, so keep the files together when you move them.
Are tables preserved when converting RTF to Markdown?

Simple grids convert reliably. Merged cells, nested tables and cells with their own paragraph styling are the usual casualties — they are represented very differently across document models, and something has to give. Check complex tables after conversion.
Does the text stay editable and searchable?

Yes. This is a document-to-document conversion, so text stays as text throughout — no rasterising, no OCR needed. You can select, search, copy and edit the Markdown exactly as you would any native file.
Will fonts look the same in the Markdown?

Font names are carried across, but rendering depends on what is installed where the Markdown is opened. Formats that embed fonts keep the appearance; formats that only name them substitute the nearest match, which can change line breaks and page count.
Can I convert several RTF files at once?

Yes — upload the batch and each is converted independently, then downloaded together. This is the practical way to migrate an archive of legacy documents into a current format.
Do comments, tracked changes and revision history survive?

Between closely-related word-processing formats, usually yes. Into simpler targets they are flattened or dropped — a plain-text or Markdown file has nowhere to record an unresolved comment thread. Resolve tracked changes before converting if the review history matters.
What about hyperlinks and internal cross-references?

External hyperlinks are preserved wherever the Markdown supports links. Internal cross-references and tables of contents survive between structured formats but become plain text in formats with no anchor mechanism.
Is there a size or page limit?

Free accounts cover documents up to the posted size cap, which is generous for ordinary text documents; the files that exceed it are almost always image-heavy. Pro raises the cap for long reports and scanned archives.
Is my RTF document private?
