How do I get clean chapters in the EPUB?

Use real heading styles in the Markdown — Heading 1 for chapters, Heading 2 for sections. The converter builds the ebook structure and table of contents from those styles. Text that merely looks like a heading because it is big and bold produces a book with no navigation at all.
Will my Markdown page layout be preserved?

Deliberately not. EPUB is reflowable XHTML in a zip — text re-lays-out to any screen width, which is why e-readers prefer it, so text re-lays-out to whatever screen it is opened on. Fixed page breaks, columns, precise positioning and headers/footers are dropped because they are meaningless when the reader can change the font size.
Do images survive the conversion?

Yes — they are extracted and embedded in the EPUB at their original resolution, anchored where they appear in the text. Very large images are worth downscaling first, since e-reader screens are small and file size matters on-device.
How do I set the cover image?

Supply a cover file with the upload, or put a full-page image on the first page of the Markdown. Without one, readers show a generic placeholder in the library view — worth fixing, since it is the only thing a reader sees when browsing.
Can I set the title and author?

Yes — metadata from the Markdown document properties is used automatically, and you can override title, author and language before converting. Getting this right matters because e-readers sort and search the library on those fields, not on the filename.
Will the EPUB work on a Kindle?

EPUB is accepted by every current Kindle via Send-to-Kindle, and by every other e-reader natively. For older Kindle hardware, convert onward to AZW3 or MOBI.
Do footnotes still work?

Footnotes convert to linked notes, so tapping the marker jumps to the note and back. This is one of the places the ebook version is genuinely better than the document, since there is no page bottom to anchor to.
Are tables and code blocks handled?

Simple tables convert but are awkward on small screens — narrow them where you can. Preformatted and code blocks keep their monospaced styling and do not reflow, which is the correct behaviour for code.
What about fonts?

Readers generally override embedded fonts with the reader's own setting, which is the point of a reflowable format. Semantic styling — bold, italic, headings, quotes — is preserved and respected everywhere.
Can I convert several documents into one book?

Upload them in order and they are concatenated into a single EPUB, each document becoming a top-level section. Name the files so they sort correctly, since filename order determines chapter order.
How do I check the result before publishing?

Open the EPUB in a desktop reader and check the table of contents, the cover, the first page of each chapter, and one image-heavy page. Those four checks catch almost every structural problem.
Is my manuscript private?

Yes — uploads are processed in isolated workers and deleted within minutes. Unpublished manuscripts are never stored, reviewed or used for training. See /privacy/.
