It helps to know what each side actually is: BMP איז בעצם אַ רױער ניט־צוגעפּאַקטער RGB שורה מיט אַ קליין קאָפּצעטל, אַזוי עס איז גאָר ניט־צוגעפּאַקטער און גרויס — אָפֿט 10־20 מאָל גרײס פֿון דער זעלבער בילד װי PNG, while PNG איז אַ ניט־לױפֿערדיקע DEFLATE מיט אַ פֿול־8־ביט אַלפֿאַ־קאַנאַל און אַן אָפּצאָל־16־ביט טיף, אַזוי עס װעט קײן מאָל ניט פֿאַרשטאַרבן אױף דער אױסװײַזונג, אָבער װעט זיך גרעסער מאַכן אױף דעם בילד־אינפֿאָרמאַציע. Upload your BMP file and our converter applies format-aware quality optimization for PNG output — for lossless targets (PNG, TIFF, BMP, PSD) every pixel is preserved; for lossy targets (JPG, WebP, GIF) you can tune the quality factor before download.

Transparency survives when going to PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, ICO, PSD or SVG. Converting to JPG / JPEG / JFIF flattens the alpha channel against a white background — if you need transparency, target a transparency-aware format instead of PNG.
In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the PNG. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.

Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
איז מײַן טעקע BMP פּריוואַט בשעת דער איבערװײַזונג?
+
Yes. Uploaded BMP files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted PNG are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
