Why would I want a video of an audio file?

Because most publishing platforms only accept video. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and many messaging apps will not take a bare MP2, so wrapping it as WebM is the standard way to get a podcast episode, a track or a voice recording onto them.
How long can the MP2 be?

Duration is limited by the file-size cap rather than by minutes. A static-image WebM adds very little per minute on top of the audio, so full-length podcast episodes and DJ sets convert comfortably; free accounts cover typical uploads and Pro raises the ceiling.
Can I convert a batch of MP2 files into videos?

Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Is my MP2 private during conversion?

Yes. Uploaded MP2 files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted WebM are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
