Can any PSD image be turned into a clean SVG vector?

Honestly, no. Tracing works beautifully on flat artwork — logos, icons, silhouettes, line drawings, screenshots of solid shapes. It works badly on photographs, because PSD is Photoshop native — layers, masks, adjustment layers and blend modes stay live and editable, which no flat image format can represent and a photo has no clean edges to follow; the tracer emits thousands of tiny paths that are larger and uglier than the original.

How do I get the best trace out of my PSD?

Feed it the highest-resolution, least-compressed PSD you have, with high contrast and as few colours as possible. Remove JPEG artefacts and dithering first if you can — the tracer treats compression noise as real edges and faithfully vectorises it.

Can I edit the SVG afterwards in Illustrator or Inkscape?

Yes — the output is plain SVG geometry, so every path is selectable, recolourable and reshapeable in any vector editor. That is usually the whole point of tracing: recovering an editable logo when only a flat PSD survived.

Will text in my PSD come out as editable text?

No. Text that was flattened into the PSD is now pixels, and tracing turns those pixels into outlines that merely look like letters. To get real text back you would retype it in a vector editor and match the font.

Is tracing PSD to SVG lossless?

No — it is a reinterpretation, not a conversion. Pixels are approximated by curves. That is why it improves scalability (the SVG is now resolution-independent) while never being pixel-faithful to the PSD.

Can I batch-trace many PSD files?

Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.

Is my PSD private during tracing?

Yes. Uploaded PSD files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted SVG are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
