Honestly, no. Tracing works beautifully on flat artwork — logos, icons, silhouettes, line drawings, screenshots of solid shapes. It works badly on photographs, because GIF tí a tí ìgbà pẹ̀lú àwọn àwọ̀ 256 nípa ìṣàfarawé àwọn àwọ̀ nípa bítì kan (pa/pa) àti àwọn àlàfà àwọn ààyè-iṣẹ́, eyi nípa àwọn fọtò àti àwọn ààyè-iṣẹ́ nínú rẹ̀ and a photo has no clean edges to follow; the tracer emits thousands of tiny paths that are larger and uglier than the original.

Yes — the output is plain SVG geometry, so every path is selectable, recolourable and reshapeable in any vector editor. That is usually the whole point of tracing: recovering an editable logo when only a flat GIF survived.

Is my GIF private during tracing?
+
Yes. Uploaded GIF files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted SVG are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
