Will chapters survive EPUB to HTML?

Yes — chapter boundaries become headings in the HTML, and the table of contents becomes a navigable structure wherever the target supports one. Reading order is taken from the book spine, so chapters appear in the author-intended sequence rather than in filename order.

Why convert an ebook into a document?

To edit it. EPUB is reflowable XHTML in a zip — text re-lays-out to any screen width, which is why e-readers prefer it, which is optimised for reading rather than revising; a document format is what you need to make changes, add comments, run a word count or hand the manuscript to an editor.

Do images and the cover carry across?

Illustrations, diagrams and the cover are extracted and embedded in the HTML at their original resolution, positioned in the text where they occur. Formats that link rather than embed get the images written alongside.

What happens to footnotes and endnotes?

They convert to the HTML equivalent where one exists, keeping their markers and their link back to the reference point. In flat targets they are appended as plain text at the end of the section, since there is no note mechanism to map onto.

Will the formatting look the same?

Approximately. An ebook reflows to the screen it is on and has no fixed page, so there is no single "original" appearance to reproduce. Structural formatting — headings, emphasis, block quotes, lists — carries over reliably; page-level design does not exist to carry.

Can I edit the text afterwards?

Yes. The output is a normal HTML that opens in any compatible word processor, with the text live and editable throughout — no OCR involved, because an ebook already stores real text.

Does this remove DRM?

No, and it will not attempt to. DRM-protected purchases cannot be opened by this converter and will fail with an error. Only unprotected files you own, or DRM-free books, can be converted.

Are page numbers preserved?

Ebooks do not have page numbers — text reflows, so what counts as a page depends on the device and font size. The HTML will paginate according to its own layout rules, which is why the page count rarely matches any e-reader.

What about the book metadata?

Title, author, publisher, language and description are read from the ebook metadata and written into the HTML document properties where the format supports them.

Can I convert several books at once?

Yes — upload the batch and each is converted independently. The usual use is migrating a personal library into an editable or archivable format in one pass.

Will very long books convert reliably?

Yes — full-length novels and technical manuals convert without trouble; the practical limit is the file-size cap, which is normally reached by heavily-illustrated books rather than by text length.
