Your SVG file has no inherent pixel size — it is geometry, so you choose the output resolution. Pick the largest size you will actually display, then scale down in the browser; rasterizing small and scaling up is what produces the soft, blocky GIF everyone complains about. We default to 1024px on the long edge and let you override it.

It depends entirely on the target. PNG, WebP, TIFF and ICO keep the alpha channel, so an unfilled SVG background stays transparent in the GIF. JPG, JPEG and JFIF have no alpha at all and composite onto white instead.
